Band Camp Reminders



DATES

Pre-Camp: July 17-20 (no Friday 7/21 rehearsal)

Winds: 10am-3pm

Guard & Percussion: 5:30-8pm

*NOTE: Percussion time change*

Tag Day Fundraiser: July 22

Everyone: 9am-4pm

Full Camp: July 24-28

Mon-Thurs. -- Everyone: 8am-5pm

Friday only -- Everyone 8am-12pm

**ALL BAND CAMP DATES ARE REQUIRED FOR STUDENTS**

WHAT TO BRING

Required Items

- Pencil (highlighters are optional)

- Music with measures numbered

- Instrument & Case

- Sunscreen

- Any specific medications (Epi-pens, pills, inhalers, etc.)

- Water jug/bottle

- 1 can of spray paint (see Section Colors)

- Food or lunch money (NPPA provides lunch at Tag Day ONLY)

- Tennis shoes w/ socks (these may get a little dirty in grass)

- White t-shirt for visual/drill (does not have to be 100% plain)

- Clothing appropriate for outside activity (hats, sunglasses, etc.)

- 2 medium or large binder clips (WINDS ONLY)

- Medical forms (more will be available at camp)

- Show/Section shirt designs (optional)

Section Spray Paint Colors

We use these to mark drill -- please bring 1 can/student

- Brass: Bright/Royal Blue

- Woodwinds: Orange

- Colorguard: Pink

- Percussion: N/A

Items you do NOT need to bring:

- NO flip flops or sandals - NO school-inappropriate items

- NO memo pads (we're making different dot books this year)

- NO pens

SHIRT DESIGNS

Any shirt designs (show AND sections) must be submitted to Mr. Knight by Thursday, July 20. Submitting a design is optional, but many students like to submit ideas. We will vote on a show design at Band Camp. While every student will receive a complimentary show shirt in August to wear at competitions, some sections like to create their own section shirts to wear at school and other approved events. These section shirts are 100% optional, but many students & parents like to buy them. They usually cost between $10-13.

Section leaders and upperclassmen should discuss a design with their section. Mr. Knight wants ONE design per section by Thursday, July 20 if sections want section shirts. Please keep designs to 1 color front/back if you want individual names on the back. Non-personalized shirts can be up to 2 colors front/1 color back. This will keep costs down and streamline prices for everyone. NO STUDENT SHOULD COLLECT MONEY OR PLACE ANY ORDERS. We want to streamline the merchandise process and ensure proper handing of money through the NPPA.

Keep your eyes peeled for a merchandise order form coming in late July! This will be your opportunity to buy your section's shirt, NPPA polos, and any other merchandise for students, family, and fans!
