High school students: It's time to plan for the 2019 All-State Honor Choir. If you're interested in this prestigious festival in January, you need to start planning for the audition ASAP.

AUDITION
Students audition on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 5-7pm at Castle High School. We will leave NPHS on a mini-bus driven by Mr. Knight at 4:30pm. After the audition, we will get dinner together as a group. Students may also drive themselves or ride with a parent. The audition fee is $12 dollars (made to North Posey High School). The Choir Fund will pay for the school fee and transportation to the audition.
The live audition at Castle is two-fold: 1) sing ALL of your part on “Weep Not For Him” (you may use music - does not have to be memorized); 2) sight reading (rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic – just like ISSMA organizational). I will provide optional individual lessons times after school. Students may sign-up on Google Calendar using the link on our website northposeyperformingarts.com/choir.
MAKING THE CUT
We will receive audition results in early October. If students pass the audition and accept their invitation, they will owe a $200 registration fee to NPHS before Christmas break 2018. The registration fee covers the music, hotel, staff, and food (including driving up a day early). A limited number of 50%-off scholarships are available for those with a financial need.
Students must also attend all group rehearsals at Castle this fall/winter, and the performance weekend January 17-19, 2019 in Ft. Wayne, IN. Students are responsible for their transportation to rehearsals at Castle, but Mr. Knight will drive a school vehicle to Ft. Wayne.
You MUST have these dates available if you wish to participate. Students may attend another area rehearsal if they have a major conflict, but they must attend 4 total rehearsals – ICDA allows ONE absence with a legitimate excuse. Students will be excused from marching band practices. Please see Mr. Knight about any other conflicts.
